Principal's Message

Coming together is a beginning; keeping together is progress; working together is success.  –Henry Ford

At Head O’Meadow, the school staff works together each day to promote a safe and healthy environment for our children. Through Responsive Classroom and our CARES model, we continue to promote and encourage school-wide positive behavioral expectations.

Teaching and learning is focused on the 21st century skills of communication and collaboration, creativity and innovation, critical thinking and problem solving, and research and information literacy.  As we are faced with the flattening of our world and global competition, we as parents and educators have a tremendous responsibility to prepare our children for an ever-changing world.  We must work together to not only “fill the pail” but “light the fire” as we strive to inspire student learning.

Almost every child begins school with a sense of excitement and adventure for learning.  For many children, that excitement lasts a lifetime.  For others, tasks can become overwhelming or children become unsure about what they are supposed to do or learn.  If this happens, please contact your child’s teacher.  Through the Scientifically Research-Based Intervention (SRBI) model, school-based teams identify problems, develop action plans, and monitor student progress to help students succeed.

We are so fortunate at Head O’Meadow to have involved parents who show an interest in their children’s academic progress, and who also enhance our school through volunteerism.  Our PTA provides numerous opportunities for family fun throughout the year and works tirelessly to provide resources and programs that enhance our curriculum.  Please be sure to secure a membership, and I encourage your participation at meetings and events.

I look forward to seeing you during the school year and working with you and your children.
